Doris Hecht, Campus Director - doris@mediatech.edu
Doris Hecht brings to MediaTech Institute a wealth of career school experience spanning over
three decades. Having served as Campus Director for well known colleges such as MedVance
Institute (where she was voted Director of the year in 2006), and Apollo College, Doris has run
schools in diverse markets like Nashville, Portland, and Houston. She has both started new schools
as well as led existing schools through large periods of growth and several rounds of accreditation
and re-affirmation. Doris is a past President of Oregon Private Career Schools Association and
served as a Team Leader for NATTS Accrediting Commission. Doris has also held positions with
the Oregon State Rules Committee and on the Board of the South Texas Chapter of the Texas
Workforce Commission. Her love of education and travel took her to Venezuela where she spent
three years teaching under-privileged children.

No stranger to the music world, Doris is also an avid concert goer and has many close friends in
the “business”. Doris joined the MediaTech Institute team in May 2008 and looks forward to many
success stories from her graduates in the years to come.







Greg Giacona

Greg was introduced to piano and music at a very early age, and his love for both has not
waned over the years. Greg enjoys writing music, and it is not unusual that his tunes are a little bit
of everything – pop, jazz, funk and classical. His first release was “People and Places. He drew
inspiration for the music from his experiences with friends and travel. He wrote, arranged, produced
and engineered the album, and performed all of the keyboard, bass, and drum parts. A second
release was “We Dream As One.”

Greg’s experience and talent as a Producer / Owner, Music Director, Pianist, Arranger and
Composer help with the education of students and inspires many to continue with their interest in
the music industry.

Jacob Meador, Instructor, AUD401, BCM101 - jmeador@mediatech.edu
Jacob is an audio engineer who specializes in making records. He is also a musician; playing
guitar, bass, singing and lightly pursuing a solo music career. While training at The Conservatory of
Recording Arts and Sciences, Jacob turned a passion for recording that he developed in high school
into his greatest skill. Jacob also received intense electrical training in the U.S. Coast Guard. Along
with teaching the Audio Engineering and Studio Techniques and the Live Sound Reinforcement
courses at Mediatech, Jacob is actively recording, mixing, and mastering local and national artists.
He also freelances at studios in greater Houston and spends most of his weekends mixing live
sound for popular clubs, large churches, or for top Christian artists’, Caedmon’s Call. If that isn’t
enough, Jacob also finds time to build custom guitar speaker cabinets, repair and maintain tube guitar
amplifiers, write songs, and record his own music. Jacob’s small amount of free time is spent with

Heath Vercher, Instructor, BOM101, Career Services Representative - heath@mediatech.edu
"Heath Vercher is a graduate of the University of Louisiana at Lafayette with his B.M. in Music
Media and his M.M. in Theory and Composition. Outside of teaching the Business of Music class at MediaTech Houston, Heath owns and operates his own independent record label (Heartspark Music)
and works handling business affairs and production for Dope House Records, a local Houston record
label. When not working directly in the music business, Heath is leads worship and directs the music ministry efforts of Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church in Huntsville, Texas. He is also an active performer and tours throughout the United States playing his original contemporary instrumental
music. When he has spare time, you'll usually find him trying to make his graphic designer fall in
love with him, or walking around the Hermann Park area, or both."



Paul Cox
, Instructor, AUD 201 - paul@mediatech.edu
Paul has a BA from Pepperdine University in Malibu, California and a recording arts degree from
the Musicians Institute in Los Angeles California. He has worked as an engineer in Los Angeles for Cherokee Studios, ATK Audiotek, and other various studios and sound reinforcement companies.
Paul currently does post production work for Fellowship of the Woodlands, handling their television
show and commercials. Paul has been blessed to work with such talent as Macy Gray, Stanley Clarke, Dennis Chambers, Ernie Watts, Nick Smith, and many others. His vast experience in high end studio
and live sound work will prove extremely beneficial for a variety of audio students.




Aaron Inkrott
, Instructor, AUD 101 - aaron@mediatech.edu
Aaron Inkrott has a diverse background in the Music and Recording Industry. After graduating from
Rutgers University in New Jersey with a major in Communication and minor in Music Theory,
he spent a couple years working with Wind-up Records in New York City. While at Wind- up,
he screened over 1500 demos and developed their Studio Tape Log of all artists' recordings.
This experience in the business led Aaron to realize he wanted to be more involved with the
creative side of the industry, and he chose to pursue an Engineering and Production program at
MediaTech Institute in Houston, TX. Aaron is classically trained in violin and piano, and he can often
be found playing guitar. He also spends time working as Producer and First Engineer at
Lucky Run Studio in Richmond, TX.




Brian Frye, Admissions Representative - b.frye@mediatech.edu
From an early age, Brian knew his passion and career choice - Music & Arts. Upon graduating
from high school, Brian enrolled in MediaTech Institute, Houston, and graduated
from the Recording Arts Program in December 2007.

Because of his charm, his articulation, and his eagerness to share his love of recording arts,
he accepted a position with MediaTech as an Admissions Representative. As an Admissions Representative, he shares with all the prospective students and their families how MediaTech
helped him fulfill his dream in the music industry. During Brian's spare time, he also works as an engineer/producer continually achieving his dream
and goals one day at a time. For example, he:

- Assists in producing a TV show called Pinks on the SPEED channel;
- Produces for a Houston radio station, Sports 610 Radio;
- Engineers at Sunrise Sound. Brian is in the “fast lane” and nothing is stopping him.





Sam Ortallono

Sam Ortallono was born at a very young age. He is a graduate of Cornell University and Berklee
College of Music. Sam began performing at the age of seven with a Serbo-Croatian folk music group.
Since then he has played and recorded every style of music from classical to punk. He is the staff
engineer for Live Music Records, Freelance producer, host of a songwriter circle, sound effects and background music provider for the Nightsound Show, local musician and member of AES and ASA.



Clare Galicia
, Financial Advisor- clare@mediatech.edu

Clare Galicia, Financial Aid Advisor, brings to MediaTech Houston over 7 years of financial aid
experience. Today earning her AA.FMGT, at LoanStar College in Kingwood, Texas; working hard
to complete in 2011. Clare is very involved with two son’s sports, she has been volunteering for
over 7 years at MD Anderson YMCA as Team Mom, Parent Advisory Committee Member and MD
Anderson Board Member. The YMCA did a story on Clare and her family for their dedication and
services to the local community in 2009. Their story was published and a video was done on th
e story. Clare is also a Violinist. Clare started playing violin in 1985 and all through her
high school years earning many awards.





Tom Guth

Ever since he was introduced to The Beatles at a young age, Tom has wanted to do something
with music. Having big aspirations to write and record his own music and tour as a performing
artist, he has worked very hard and learned multiple instruments including guitar and keyboards.
Tom has played gigs around Texas in a few local bands and also does session work for studio
artists. Though mainly focusing on his guitar work, Tom has also written lyrics and composed
songs in multiple genres. As a Mediatech graduate, he has started to solidify his involvement in
the art of music and entertainment.




Nick Morrow
, Student Services Representative - nick@mediatech.edu
Nick Morrow is a graduate of MediaTech and is the Student Services Representative at the Houston
campus. He is a beginning engineer and is in the studio any chance he gets. A musician himself, he
records his own material and experiments with various techniques. He began playing guitar at 16 and
plays everyday either learning some old classic rock song or an original of his own. He loves what
he does and is there to help you with anything you need and to put a smile on your face.




Whitney Jobe

Whitney is a MediaTech graduate. He has an Associates Degree in Liberal Arts and is
a member of Toastmasters International. He is currently making steps toward starting his own
record label, as well as releasing a full-length cd.




Jose Diaz, Studio Technician - jose@mediatech.edu
Jose is a March 2009 graduate of MediaTech Institute and is now a Studio Technician at the Houston
campus. He is currently making steps toward starting his own record label and recording studio, as
well as releasing a full-length cd. Between his home studio and Sunrise Sound Studios, Jose can be
found working with various artists and different projects. In his spare time he enjoys practicing his mixing
and producing skills, as well as looking for new steps to advance his pursuits in the music business.





Armando Berrios, Lab Supervisor - armando@mediatech.edu
Armando Berrios has been recording, mixing, and mastering records for 7 years.  Armando
help establish the Houston branch of Mediatech but left soon after it was established to pursue
freelance engineering endeavors.  Since then he has engineered records for several multimillion
dollar record labels and has work with many established artists including Fat Joe, Scarface,
Face Mob, lil boosie, Ludacris, Funk Legend George Clinton, Mannie Fresh, David Banner, Slim Thug,
Paul Couture, Mr. Lee, Boss Hogg Outlaws, Jagged Edge, Lil Flip, The Clipse, Too Short, Case
, Lil Keke, Da Brat, Bun B, Devin the Dude, B2K, K. Ruger, Bushwick Bill, Big Pokey, Fat Pimp,
Z-RO, Kiotti, and Big Moe just to name a few.





Dave Dunaway, Lab Supervisor - dave@mediatech.edu
Dave Dunaway, a graduate of MediaTech Institute, has always been an engineer at heart. His
true passion lies in recording and mixing records, but Dave is a jack of all trades. When he
is not at the studio, he is practicing in his other passion, Auto Mechanics. As a versatile,
mechanically inclined individual he has worked on cars from Aston Martins to private race cars
and enjoyed every moment of it. Now, practicing in education, he has found a new passion:
Helping people learn.
 " I have learned from experience that it can be difficult to learn new things
on your own, even if you have a strong drive. I am always excited to help someone learn. Ignorance
is nothing to be ashamed of, as long as you have the drive to push through it and succeed"



Raymond Carr, Studio Technician- raymond@mediatech.edu
Raymond Carr is a Studio Tech at the MediaTech in Houston. Whenever he is not in the studio
he’s tinkering around with his hotrods and jamming some punk rock.





Miles Manglos, Studio Technician- miles@mediatech.edu
Miles Manglos is a graduate of MediaTech, and is a Studio Tech at the Houston campus.
He in his spare time enjoys shredding the guitar in his metal band, “Kill the Complacent”.

George is just getting started on his career in the music industry says it’s never too late to get
started on your dream or passion. He plans to start his own entertainment business after he builds
up a team strong enough to handle his rough & tough vision. George loves to help others so he
does my best to help whenever he can. He used to always feel like music was chasing him instead
of him chasing music. It was not until a friend told him about MediaTech that he was finally
able to slow down, stop and really make music a part of his life. MediaTech is an awesome
school that will help you take your audio engineering game to the next level.
