MediaTech Institute Financial Aid Code of Conduct
MediaTech Institute prohibits all employees of the financial aid office from receiving gifts (gifts
include anything beyond reimbursements for reasonable expenses, which will be reported
to the Department of Education) from a lender, guaranty agency or loan servicer. MediaTech
Institute also prohibits the financial aid office staff (or other employees or agents with
responsibilities with respect to educatio n loans) from accepting compensation for:
- Any type of consulting arrangement or contract to provide services to or on behalf of a
lender relating to education loans; and
- Service on an advisory board, commission, or group established by lenders or guarantors,
except for reimbursements for reasonable expenses.
- From revenue sharing with any lender guarantor, or loan servicer.
In addition, there will be no refusal to certify or delaying certification, of any loan based on
borrower choice of lender or guarantor. As well as no request for or acceptance of a lender’s offer
of funds to be used for private education loans, including opportunity pool funds (including
recourse loans), to students in exchange for institution providing concessions or promises
regarding providing concessions or promise regarding providing the lender with (i)
specified number of federal or private education loans; (ii) specified volume of such loans’
or (iii) a preferred lender arrangement for such loans. In addition, no request for or acceptance
from any lender of any assistance with call center staffing or financial aid office staffing.
