Subject Description:
Beginning the third quarter, this course is designed to cover the practical concepts of field
recording, post production, ADR, Foley, sound fx, surround sound mixing and DVD authoring.
A mastery of Pro Tools will also be obtained through the Pro Tools 201 and 210P coursework.
Subject Hours: 12.5 credit hours (99 class hours, 66 lab hours)
Performance Objectives:
After completing this class, a student should be able to:
• Successfully capture, and edit audio in the field.
• Demonstrate proficiency in altering and replacing dialog in a video.
• Use a wide variety of sources for Foley and sound effects.
• Mix audio for video in a post production environment.
• Mix music and other audio in a surround environment.
• Create, assemble and produce a DVD final product.
Prerequisites: AUD101, AUD401, PSD101, BOM101, may be taken
concurrently with SIM101
